A theater of coffee becomes a hidden performance in a dense hypermarket in Amman. As a reverse reaction to the overcrowdedness and sheer number of colors, products, and lights of a hypermarket, we designed Al Ameed’s boutique as a calm and serene enclave for coffee drinkers by wrapping it in a single continuous material that fills the boutique. The cohesive design offers a sensory respite and an immersive experience for visitors.
In order to accommodate the changing collections of Decoration One’s designs, flexibility was integral to the brief. The flexibility was achieved by using modular oak wood tables and curtains that divide the space based on each season’s collection.
Contrasting the wood modules, hand chiseled local Basalt and Limestone tables played a spatial role in the boutique and created alternative ways to display the products.
